About the book


The book presents methods of modeling discrete production processes and programming languages (SFC, LD, FBD, IŁ, ST) in accordance with the IEC 1131-3: 1993 standard. The methods of Grafpol, Grafcet and SFC are discussed, giving for each of them: the algorithm of process modeling, rules for creating the control algorithm and a simple example. Then, the standard programming languages of logic controllers are described: LD, FBD, IŁ, ST, knowledge of which is necessary in the automation of industrial processes. There are also examples of modeling of PLC programming processes for the control of pneumatic drive units.

The book is a compendium of knowledge in the field of practical design of control procedures and PLC programming in typical solutions of industrial automation control systems.

It is intended for students of mechanical and electrical faculties of technical universities, as well as for engineers involved in the automation of discrete processes.
