Description

The Adafruit module contains a Panasonic sensor with an 8x8 IR thermal matrix (AMG8833 chip). It measures temperature in the range of 0 ~ 80 ° C with an accuracy of + - 2.5 ° C. It can detect a human from a distance of up to 7 meters. At a maximum frame rate of 10 Hz, it is ideal for creating your own human or mini infrared camera detector. The sensor, when connected to a microcontroller (or Raspberry Pi ), returns the array of 64 individual infrared temperature readings via the I2C interface.

The module has a built-in 3.3 V controller and a logic level translator. This allows you to use it with any 3V or 5V microcontroller or computer. The module has support in the form of Python libraries.
