Description

SIM7000E NB-IoT HAT is a module that extends the capabilities of Raspberry Pi for communication via GSM / GPRS cellular networks. To this end, Simcom SIM7000E system was used, thanks to it it is possible to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS messages, use wireless Internet. The module is controlled by AT commands via the UART of the Raspberry Pi computer (9600 bps by default).

SIM7000E NB-IoT HAT has many communication functions: NB-IoT, eMTC, EDGE, GPRS and GNSS. NB-IoT. (NarrowBand-Internet of Things) and eMTC (improved machine type communication) are the growing communication technologies IoT evolving from LTE (4G), and their advantages are low power, low cost, wide range, etc. They are suitable for applications such as intelligent instruments, remote control, tracking, remote monitoring, e-health, mobile POS terminals, bike sharing. GSM / GPRS and EDGE are, however, traditional 2G / 2.5G technologies that allow sending SMS messages or making other wireless connections.

The module has support in the form of libraries for Raspberry Pi , Arduino , STM32 .

Attention!

The Raspberry Pi computer seen in the pictures is not included in the kit. The module for operation requires a mini-SIM card (or NB-IoT card) placed in the slot from the bottom of the board. To use micro-SIM or nano-SIM cards, use an adapter.
