About the book

The book concerns multi-protocol computer industrial networks. By automating the technological process, there is a problem: how to control an installation whose elements have their own control systems from different manufacturers, using various computer networks, with different protocols. The solution is so-called gateways (gates) or similar controllers equipped with various communication modules.

The publication contains a description of the use of industrial Ethernet networks with EGD and Profinet protocols and serial networks Profibus-DP and AS-i. The examples in the book show how to expand the existing layout, how to use new drivers and what are the possibilities of using drivers that are slightly older, not included in the new software platforms.

The book is intended for engineers designing automation systems and students of technical faculties related to process automation.
