Description

AlphaBot set for building an Arduino or Raspberry Pi based robot. The set includes a number of modules that perform tasks such as line tracking, obstacle avoidance, speed measurement, infrared control. The robot contains modular solutions that allow easy and quick connection of components, without the problems of correct connection using wires. The kit includes a modified version of Arduino UNO R3, named UNO PLUS. It is modernized but still compatible with classical Arduino software and electronics.

Description UNO PLUS

    • compatible with the standard Arduino interface with two additional analogue inputs A6 (configurable in CFG) and A7
    • additional soldering pads, helpful in prototyping
  6. ICSP interface
  7. Micro USB connector for programming or as a serial port
  8. 3.3 V or 5 V power outlets, the voltage level is configured using the configuration jumper
  9. FT232 pins for burning the bootloader in the microcontroller
  10. DC power supply: 7 - 12 V
  11. reset
  12. Power LED
  13. Serial data transmission LED Rx / Tx
  14. LED for the user (programmable)
  15. Fast 500 mA fuse
  16. Configuration voltage jumper, configuration between 3.3 V and 5 V
  17. Bootloader mode switch
    • On - the board will reset when the power is turned on or when other USB devices connected to the computer are detected
    • Disabled - the program on the board will start immediately after the power is turned on and the board will not reset after detecting other USB devices connected to the computer

UNO PLUS features and comparison to UNO R3

UNO PLUS tile is a development board compatible with Arduino UNO R3. Thanks to the introduced modifications, it is an excellent solution replacing Arduino UNO R3 and allowing much more.

UNO PLUSUNO R3Description
Work voltage 5 V and 3.3 V 5th Two power levels allow you to handle more types of Arduino extensions
RESET button Side Vertical The side setting of the button is more convenient to use with the overlay attached
Bootloader switch Yes Lack The board can be configured so that the program can be started as soon as the power is turned on.
USB connector Micro USB USB type B The micro connector is more often used and does not interfere with the connection of various extensions, there is no mechanical conflict
DC Jack connector Small size Normal size The covers are not mechanically blocked by the power connector
Additional power outputs Yes Lack

Supports additional power supply or allows common power supply of multiple modules from one source

3.3 V power supply output Yes, up to 800mA load Yes, up to 150 mA load Possibility to connect a larger number of peripherals
Oscillator Crystal Ceramic Oscillator with greater precision
The number of ADC channels 8 6 CFG used for configuration as ADC6 and ADC7 from the reserved pin
Connection to prototype tiles Support He does not support Additional solder pads allow connection to the prototype board
USB driver Compatible with all operating systems Not compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 Express Edition Using the FT232RL converter does not require drivers of unknown origin, they are digitally signed
Repairing the firmware Support He does not support The firmware can be repaired using the built-in FT232RL chip, without the need for additional programmers
