Soldered - Open-Source Electronics for Makers and Developers
Soldered is a Croatian electronics manufacturer based in Osijek and active since 2013. The company started as a high-school garage project founded by David Zovko and now designs and manufactures open-source electronics for makers, hobbyists, educators and professional developers. Its portfolio includes NULA development boards, Inkplate e-paper displays, sensors and communication modules, breakout boards, motor drivers, power management boards, Qwiic modules, prototyping hardware and educational soldering kits. Product development, manufacturing, assembly and testing are carried out at the company's facility in Croatia, while documentation for many products includes schematics, open-source files, guides and application examples.
Soldered NULA Development Boards
The Soldered NULA family includes compact development boards based on modern microcontrollers such as the ESP32-C6, ESP32-S3 and RP2350. The range covers platforms for IoT projects, wireless systems, low-power devices and general electronics prototyping. Models such as the NULA Mini ESP32-C6, NULA DeepSleep ESP32-S3 and NULA Max RP2350 provide different hardware configurations for selecting a platform according to application requirements. Soldered lists NULA as a dedicated family of microcontroller development boards.
Inkplate E-Paper Displays and ESP32 Platforms
Inkplate combines low-power e-paper panels with control electronics and programmable hardware. The family includes products such as Inkplate 5 Gen2, Inkplate 6, Inkplate 6COLOR, Inkplate 6 FLICK, Inkplate 6 MOTION, Inkplate 10 and Inkplate 13SPECTRA, with selected versions also available with an enclosure and battery. E-paper technology makes the platforms suitable for information panels, IoT devices, data displays and applications where maintaining a static image with low power consumption is important. Inkplate is developed by Soldered as its own family of programmable e-paper displays.
Sensors, Breakout Boards and Communication Interfaces
The Soldered Electronics portfolio includes sensor modules and breakout boards designed for rapid electronics prototyping. Available solutions cover temperature, humidity, pressure, air quality, motion, distance, voltage and current measurement, as well as GNSS positioning. The range also includes CAN, LIN, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet and USB-UART modules, GPIO expanders, ADC converters and logic-level converters. Such a broad selection supports both compact measurement devices and more advanced automation, IoT and embedded systems.
Qwiic and Rapid Prototyping
Many Soldered modules support the Qwiic ecosystem, allowing compatible I2C devices to be connected without conventional jumper wiring. The product range includes compatible modules, hubs, adapters and cables in several lengths. Soldered also offers prototyping boards, power modules, microSD card readers, USB converters and other components intended to simplify electronic circuit development and testing. The manufacturer describes Qwiic as a modular plug-and-play system for rapid prototyping.
Soldering Kits for Electronics Education
Solder Kits combine electronics assembly with practical soldering experience and learning how electronic circuits operate. The portfolio includes electronic games, LED dice, a piano, Pomodoro timer, Macro Pad and Lo-Fi noise generator, as well as kits for assembling selected NULA and Dasduino platforms. The kits can be used for electronics education, workshops and individual development of soldering and circuit assembly skills.
Open-Source Electronics Designed and Made in Croatia
Soldered develops its products according to open-source principles, providing design resources and documentation that help developers integrate modules into their own projects. Hardware and software development, PCB production, assembly and testing are handled at the company's facility in Croatia. Soldered reports more than 200 documentation pages along with open-source files and schematics for its products. Since starting in 2013, the company has served more than 20,000 customers across over 80 countries.
