Description
5V DC solenoid with a holding force of 15 kg and a power of 2 W. It consists of a coil of wire wrapped around an iron core. When the current passes through the coil, a magnetic field appears which causes the core to become magnetized. The magnetic poles of the electromagnet can be changed by reversing the negative and positive poles of the power supply. Thanks to the fairly small housing, the electromagnet can be used for a DIY electromagnetic lock, smart cabinet or door.
Please note that the holding force, which is one of the parameters of the electromagnet, does not determine the weight that the electromagnet can lift. Divide the holding force by 5 to get the approximate weight of the items it can lift. Additionally, the electromagnet can withstand prolonged electrification when attracted to the surface of an item, but should not be electrified for long periods when there is nothing nearby to attract.
