Description

YT-8245 transformer soldering iron with very high power, made of high-quality materials while maintaining an ergonomic shape. Spot illumination of the working area and non-slip material on the handle have a positive effect on work comfort. The power of 180W guarantees very fast heating. The soldering iron needs about 15 seconds to reach a temperature of approximately 350°C using the tip installed for the first time.

The tips attached to the soldering iron have a high heat capacity for a transformer soldering iron, so even with such high power, the warm-up time from room temperature to 350°C is twice as long as in the YT-82451 model with a basic tip. The advantage of tips with high thermal capacity can be seen when trying to desolder elements from large soldering pads or connecting wires with larger cross-sections. If a tip with a basic shape is used, the heating time will not exceed 10 seconds.

How to care for your mainsail

The tips of YATO transformer soldering irons are covered with a material that limits the oxidation of the tip. Pointless overheating and mechanical damage quickly degrade the protective layer, then the tip oxidizes, resulting in problems with melting the solder binder. Instead of melting and sticking to the point, the tin balls up and falls off. A proven way to take care of the tip is to tin it. When heating up the soldering iron for the first time, apply some tin to the tip of the tip and remove its excess, e.g. with brass shavings. The resulting tin layer protects against oxidation. It is good practice to tin the tip every time after finishing work.

Attention!

Transformer soldering irons owe their relatively small dimensions to the technology of transformer construction in intermittent operation mode. To maintain the highest operating parameters of the device, follow the rule of 12 seconds of soldering - 48 seconds of break

Exceeding the soldering time once, while maintaining the rules of tip care, will not negatively affect the further operation of the soldering iron, especially if the device is allowed to cool down. If a transformer is too hot, its efficiency decreases and therefore the ability to heat the tip to the appropriate temperature decreases. Overheating the transformer also increases the risk of damage. A traditional transformer for continuous operation with such high power would have to weigh several kilograms, and its dimensions would resemble a small welder rather than a handy gun-shaped soldering iron.
