The Coral Development Board is a single-board computer designed by Google with a removable SOM module that has been equipped with eMMC memory, wireless communication modules and the Edge TPU coprocessor. The minicomputer can be used as a single-board computer for processing in projects using machine learning (Machnine Learning) as well as as an evaluation set for SOM. It can be used for prototyping IoT devices and other embedded systems.
The module is based on the NXP iMX8M processor embedded in the SOM module. The unique power of the module comes from the coprocessor Google Edge TPU. Edge TPU is a small ASIC layout designed by Google that provides high performance inferior machine learning with low energy consumption. The module also supports the TensorFlow Lite library.
The base board contains all connectors, including USB 2.0 / 3.0 ports, DSI display interface, CSI-2 camera interface, Ethernet port, loudspeaker connectors and a 40-pin GPIO connector.
Within the Coral environment are also available: USB accelerator module and a camera compatible with Coral Dev Board .
