Description

OAK-D Wide is an advanced robotic vision camera that combines stereoscopic depth vision capabilities with a high-resolution RGB camera, offering human-like perception. With built-in neural network processing and computer vision capabilities, the camera enables advanced real-time image analysis. It uses a M12 PoE port for power and connectivity, ensuring fast data transfer. The OAK-D camera is based on the RVC2 architecture, which offers 4 TOPS of computing power (including 1.4 TOPS dedicated to AI tasks). OAK-D supports any AI models, including custom ones, after prior conversion. The device allows encoding in H.264, H.265, MJPEG formats at resolutions of 4K/30FPS and 1080P/60FPS. In the realm of computer vision, it offers features like distortion correction, resizing, image cropping, edge detection, and feature tracking. Additionally, the camera provides object tracking in both 2D and 3D thanks to the ObjectTracker module.

The Ethernet with PoE connection enables the cameras to communicate with other computers using network protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP, or MQTT, while simultaneously powering the camera with a single cable. The cameras are housed in a durable enclosure with an IP protection class, making them suitable for industrial applications and outdoor conditions. The module ensures full compliance with the 802.3af standard, Class 3 PoE, at speeds of 1000BASE-T (1 Gbps). An injector or PoE switch is required to power the device.

The built-in stereo cameras provide precise depth perception with capabilities for filtering, data processing, and aligning the RGB image with depth. The ideal depth range is from 70 cm to 12 m, and the distance between the cameras is 75 mm. The camera is enclosed in a durable aluminum housing with Gorilla Glass on the front panel, ensuring its durability and resistance to harsh conditions. OAK-D features a standard mounting thread of 1/4", making it easy to mount on tripods, as well as a 75mm M4 Vesa mount. The power consumption is a maximum of 5W, depending on the intensity of function usage. Additionally, the OAK-D camera has an integrated IMU BMI270, which is a 6-axis inertial module that allows tracking movement in three dimensions. This enables real-time monitoring of the camera's position and movement.

Power consumption in OAK-D depends on the load of the modules, including the vision processing unit (VPU). The base consumption while streaming video is 2.5W - 3W, with additional power demand for the AI system of up to 1W, for the stereoscopic system up to 0.5W, and for the video encoder also up to 0.5W. Total consumption can reach up to 5.5 W when all functions are used simultaneously. This makes it an ideal solution for projects requiring precise robotic vision, AI, depth analysis, and real-time motion tracking.
