The OAK-1 camera is an advanced AI device with a 12 MP resolution, offering on-device neural network processing and computer vision capabilities. This allows for high-resolution image capture, running custom AI models, and performing complex image analysis tasks. The camera uses USB-C for both power and USB3 connectivity, ensuring fast data transfer.
The device features RVC2 architecture, providing 4 TOPS of computational power, with 1.4 TOPS dedicated to AI tasks. The OAK-1 supports any AI models, including custom architectures after conversion. The camera allows encoding in H.264, H.265, MJPEG formats at 4K/30FPS or 1080P/60FPS. For computer vision, the device offers distortion correction, resizing, image cropping, edge detection, and feature tracking. The object tracking function enables 2D tracking using the ObjectTracker module. Power consumption depends on the device's workload, with a maximum of up to 5W. The Fixed-Focus version, with a mechanically locked lens, is recommended for use in environments with heavy vibrations, such as drones, vehicles, or lawnmowers.
The camera is housed in a durable aluminum case with a front panel made of Gorilla Glass, ensuring high durability. It also features a standard 1/4" mounting thread, allowing easy attachment to a tripod. The camera uses a USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen1, 5 Gbps) for both power and data transmission. Power consumption depends on the features used. Basic power usage during video streaming ranges from 2.5W to 3W, with additional power required for AI subsystems, stereoscopy, and video encoding, totaling a maximum of 5W. To reduce power consumption, the frame rate can be decreased, which reduces the load on individual subsystems.
