The OAK-1 camera is an advanced AI device with a 12 MP resolution, offering on-device neural network processing and computer vision capabilities. This allows capturing high-resolution images, running custom AI models, and performing complex image analysis tasks. The camera uses USB-C for both power and USB3 connectivity, ensuring fast data transfer.
The device features the RVC2 architecture, providing 4 TOPS of computational power, with 1.4 TOPS dedicated to AI tasks. The OAK-1 supports any AI models, including custom architectures after conversion. The camera allows encoding in H.264, H.265, and MJPEG formats at resolutions of 4K/30FPS or 1080P/60FPS. For computer vision, the device offers distortion correction, resizing, cropping, edge detection, and feature tracking. The object tracking function enables 2D tracking using the ObjectTracker module. Power consumption depends on the device's workload, with a maximum of up to 5W. A version with a mechanically locked lens is recommended for applications in environments with high vibration, such as drones, vehicles, or mowers. The lens offers a wide field of view of up to 120°, allowing for capturing a large area.
The camera is housed in a durable aluminum case with a front panel made of Gorilla Glass, ensuring high durability. It also features a standard 1/4" mounting thread, allowing easy attachment to a tripod. The camera uses a USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen1, 5 Gbps) for both power and data transmission. Power consumption depends on the features used. Basic power usage during video streaming ranges from 2.5W to 3W, with additional power required for AI subsystems, stereoscopy, and video encoding, totaling a maximum of 5W. To reduce power consumption, the frame rate can be decreased, reducing the load on individual subsystems.
