A GIANT CLOCK - A SYSTEM HOLDED AND LAUNCHED
The electronic clock is the 'iron point' of every electronics. Its construction allows to know issues related to digital time measurement; generating second pulses, counting them appropriately and displaying the result.
The 'heart' of the system is the 89C2051 microprocessor. His program was written in BASCOM, which facilitates making own modifications. The advantage of the device is its easy operation. In normal state, the system counts (and displays) hours, minutes and seconds. Only two buttons are used to set the time. The time is read out on the LED elements. Multiplex display adopted. The system has been designed in such a way that the reading field can have different sizes: from standard displays (14, 20 mm) to displays set individually from sets of LED diodes. For example, a six-digit display - the giant is 124 cm long and 27 cm high (a separate kit) . The indication is legible even from a distance of several hundred meters. Each digit is assembled from several narrow strips of a printed circuit board, which radically reduces the costs of displays.
The device is especially recommended to all who want to control the passage of time and electronics exploring the secrets of its measurement
