The FireBeetle 2 ESP32-S3 is a development board with the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 module. It is equipped with the OV2640 camera, making it ideal for applications such as image recognition. The ESP32-S3 module offers a large memory capacity (it comes with 8 MB PSRAM and 16 MB Flash memory) and a rich set of communication interfaces to meet a wide range of application requirements. The board has a built-in camera interface for easy camera connection. An independent power circuit has also been designed to help reduce interference from other signals entering the camera. The board is equipped with the OV2640 sensor, which has a resolution of 2 MPx and a field of view of 68 °. The accelerator of neural network calculations and signal processing workloads provided by the ESP32-S3 chip makes the module an ideal choice for a wide range of applications such as speech recognition and image recognition.
FireBeetle 2 ESP32-S3 supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 (LE) dual mode communication. Both Bluetooth Mesh and Espressif WiFi Mesh protocols are supported for more stable communication and longer range. With support for the Matter protocol, the microcontroller can be used to develop industrial smart home devices for a wider range of IoT and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) scenarios. The development board is designed to be user-friendly and takes into account the complexity of screen wiring through the built-in GDI screen interface. Additionally, it integrates power management features that support battery charging and hardware power control. The FireBeetle 2 ESP32-S3 is programmable with Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF and MicroPython, allowing developers to use both C and Python.
