The Kitronik Mini Controller is a programmable controller designed to work with the Raspberry Pi Pico W. It is equipped with a buzzer for generating sound signals and features 6 buttons. The module also provides outputs for GP1, GP2, GP3, GP4, GP14, and GP17, as well as ADC1 and ADC2, along with several 3.3V and GND pins on a 2.54 mm grid. The button layout resembles a typical gamepad, with four directional buttons and two action buttons.
The controller is designed for use as a remote control, but it also works well in any project or game requiring user control. The board does not feature a display, allowing for a compact size and reduced cost, making it ideal for controlling robots and vehicles where a screen is not necessary. For projects that require visualization, a more suitable solution may be the ZIP96 Retro Gamer model for Pico. To use the Mini Controller, the Raspberry Pi Pico must be equipped with soldered pin headers and correctly placed in the dedicated socket on the controller. Power is supplied via a built-in holder for 3 AA batteries located at the bottom of the board.
