Description
The PoE Adapter for Raspberry Pi 5 is an efficient and versatile solution that allows you to power the device directly via Ethernet (PoE) in compliance with the IEEE 802.3af/at standards. It has been specially designed for the Raspberry Pi 5, meaning it is not compatible with earlier models like the Raspberry Pi 4B or Pi 3B. The adapter features a built-in isolated switched-mode power supply (SMPS) that provides stable voltage and additional protection. It uses the standard 40-pin GPIO interface for Raspberry Pi and enables power delivery directly through PoE, offering flexibility in network configurations. The adapter is also equipped with an efficient fan and metal heatsink for effective heat dissipation during intense usage. It also supports the NVMe protocol, allowing fast access to data on M.2 drives.
The adapter supports PCI-E×1 modes in both Gen2 and Gen3 versions, ensuring fast data transfer. It is compatible with M.2 drives in sizes 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280, providing flexibility in memory selection, which is important for expanding the Raspberry Pi 5. Regarding power parameters, the PoE adapter supports an input voltage from 37 V to 57 V DC. The output power on the GPIO connector is 5 V at 4.5 A, while the 2-pin connector provides 12 V at 2 A, enabling you to power additional devices. The adapter is equipped with a PWR LED that lights up when powered on and an ACT LED that flashes during read/write operations, making it easier to monitor system activity.
