A large 4-digit, 7-segment LED display with a digit height of 1.2" (30.6 mm), glowing red. There are five additional LEDs in the form of dots on the display. Two LEDs representing the colons separating the digits and one which can signal a comma or a degree sign.
The display module consists of an LED matrix displaying digits and an HT16K33 display controller. The controller has a built-in clock that is responsible for clocking the multiplexer system. Additionally, the display controller has a constant current power supply system for LED diodes, which ensures high quality lighting of each segment. It is possible to control the display brightness in steps of 1/16 of the maximum brightness. All information display functions and data transfer are carried out using the I2C bus connected to the Stemma QT/Qwiic connector. The module allows you to select one of eight 7-bit addresses in the range: 0x70 - 0x77.
