VL806 is a compact USB 3.0 controller for integration into systems with a PCIe interface, providing fast data transfer, high device compatibility, and low power consumption. It is suitable for desktop computers, embedded systems, and expansion cards requiring stable and efficient communication with USB devices.
The VL806 controller from VIA Labs is a high-performance USB 3.0 host that adds two SuperSpeed (5 Gb/s) ports to platforms equipped with a PCI Express interface. It supports all USB operation modes – SuperSpeed (5 Gb/s), High-Speed (480 Mb/s), Full-Speed (12 Mb/s), and Low-Speed (1.5 Mb/s). With compliance to the USB 3.0 specification and the xHCI interface, the controller ensures seamless compatibility with both modern and legacy USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
The VL806 uses a PCIe 2.0 x1 interface, fully backward compatible with PCIe 1.0, making it suitable for both PCs and expansion cards. The integrated USB PHY technology based on a CMOS process minimizes power consumption, while UASP support enables faster and more efficient data transfers when using storage devices.
