Description

Threaded inserts provide metal mounting points in parts made of plastic. The construction features a through internal thread and knurled surfaces on both ends, which improve retention in the surrounding material. The inserts can be installed during plastic molding, by heat press-in, or using ultrasonic equipment. For 3D-printed parts, heat insertion is particularly useful and involves heating the insert and pressing it into a properly prepared hole.

The kit includes 10 dimensional variants with M2, M2.5 and M3 threads, allowing the insert size to be matched to different part thicknesses and screw diameters. H59 brass provides good machinability and corrosion resistance under typical operating conditions. The inserts can be used in electronic device enclosures, 3D-printed parts, prototypes, instruments, controller housings, and other plastic assemblies requiring repeated fastening and disassembly.
