Versatile ESP32 module with LoRa and Wi-Fi support, designed for monitoring people flow and creating mesh networks in difficult conditions, such as in areas cut off from the network. The device can detect Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals, allowing estimation of the number of mobile devices in the environment without recording MAC addresses, which protects privacy. The module offers low power consumption, data storage on SD card and data transfer via LoRa WAN or MQTT, making it a reliable and self-sufficient solution for emergency communication. modTTGO LoRa32 v2.1
LILYGO Paxcounter Disaster-Radio LoRa V2.1_1.6.1 is an advanced ESP32 module with support for LoRa and Wi-Fi, designed for applications such as monitoring passenger flow and creating mesh networks in challenging conditions. The Paxcounter device, capable of detecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals, allows for an approximate count of mobile devices in the vicinity, which translates into an estimate of the number of people. A key benefit is that the device does not store MAC addresses or track specific devices, ensuring privacy.
The Paxcounter module features 4 MB of Flash memory and a high-performance, low-power LoRa transceiver with high sensitivity (-148 dBm). It includes the LoRa SX1276 module (868/915 MHz), providing flexibility in communication frequency. Data can be stored locally on a microSD card, sent to the cloud via LoRa WAN or MQTT over TCP/IP, or transmitted locally via the SPI interface.
The main features of the Paxcounter Disaster-Radio include digital RSSI measurement, automatic frequency correction, and gain control, fast wake-up, and frequency hopping. The module also features a highly configurable data packet handling module and a built-in 3D Wi-Fi antenna, with the option to connect an external LoRa antenna. Power can be supplied via both Micro USB and a Li-Po battery, with the option to charge via USB simultaneously. The module also includes a TF card (microSD) slot and a CH9102 chip for serial communication. Paxcounter Disaster-Radio is designed as an open, decentralized long-range network powered by solar energy, making it ideal for distributed, self-sustaining communication systems in emergency situations and areas cut off from networks.
