Description
Ethernet expansion module with LAN8710A chip, dedicated for Galatea Spartan 6 PCI Express FPGA development boards. It complies with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX standards and supports communication with the Ethernet MAC layer via the standard MII interface. The system implements autonegotiation to determine the best possible speed and mode of operation, and supports communication at rates up to 10 Mb/s (10BASE-T) and 100 Mb/s (100BASE-TX). Supports HP Auto-MDIX, allowing the use of direct connections or crossover LAN cables. The expansion module also has a Microchip 24AA02E48 2Kbit EEPROM with a built-in unique MAC address that can be read from the EEPROM and used for the Ethernet interface.
