Cobra Flex is a compact and advanced 4WD drive-by-wire chassis with independent suspension and in-hub motors. It is designed for building mobile robots and autonomous research platforms with open-source code and multiple communication interfaces. It enables integration with Raspberry Pi, Jetson Orin, and other embedded systems.
Cobra Flex is a universal, modular 4WD drive-by-wire chassis designed for mobile robots and research & development platforms. The construction is based on a compact frame with full independent suspension and hub-driven wheels with integrated FOC-controlled hub motors, providing smooth and powerful off-road performance as well as good shock absorption. It supports various hosts – such as Raspberry Pi, Jetson Orin Nano, and others – communicating via USB, UART, or HTTP.
The chassis is equipped with 1020 aluminum profile mounting rails (110 mm spacing), allowing easy expansion with additional modules and components. Inside, there is space for a 3s2p 18650 battery pack (not included). The control board, based on ESP32, provides interfaces for RSBL bus servos, ST/SC with galvanic isolation, and communication via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (for local diagnostics). The entire system is supported with full open-source resources and the manufacturer’s Wiki documentation.
