Luxonis OAK-D Wide Global Shutter
OAK-D Wide is an advanced robotic vision camera that combines stereoscopic depth vision capabilities with a high-resolution RGB camera, offering human-like perception. With built-in neural network processing and computer vision capabilities, the camera enables advanced real-time image analysis. It uses a USB Type-C port for power and connectivity, ensuring fast data transfer via USB 3.2 Gen1 (5 Gbps). The OAK-D camera is based on the RVC2 architecture, which offers 4 TOPS of computing power (including 1.4 TOPS dedicated to AI tasks). OAK-D supports any AI models, including custom ones, after prior conversion. The device allows encoding in formats such as H.264, H.265, MJPEG at a resolution of 1080P/60FPS. In the realm of computer vision, it provides features including distortion correction, resizing, image cropping, edge detection, and feature tracking. Additionally, the camera supports object tracking in both 2D and 3D thanks to the ObjectTracker module.
The built-in stereo cameras ensure precise depth perception with filtering, data processing, and RGB image alignment. The ideal depth range is from 70 cm to 12 m, with a distance between cameras of 75 mm. The camera is housed in a durable aluminum enclosure with Gorilla Glass on the front panel, ensuring durability and resistance to harsh conditions. OAK-D features a standard 1/4" mounting thread, facilitating attachment to tripods, as well as 75mm M4 Vesa mounting. Power consumption is a maximum of 5W, depending on the intensity of feature usage. Additionally, the OAK-D includes an integrated IMU BNO085, a 9-axis inertial module that enables real-time tracking of movement in three dimensions. This allows monitoring of the camera's position and movement in real-time, with IMU usage details available through the IMU Node API.
Power consumption in OAK-D depends on the load of the modules, including the vision processing unit (VPU). Base consumption while streaming video is 2.5W - 3W, with additional power requirements for the AI system up to 1W, for the stereoscopic system up to 0.5W, and for the video encoder also up to 0.5W. Total consumption can reach up to 5W when all functions are utilized simultaneously. This makes it an ideal solution for projects requiring precise robotic vision, AI, depth analysis, and real-time motion tracking.
