Creating a bicycle meter yourself can be a source of pride for every 'racial' cyclist. The presented system was designed using cheap and easily available parts and its price is lower than similar factory devices. A graphic LCD display from a mobile phone is provided for communication with the user. In addition to typical data, it guarantees the ability to display graphics and backlight - a valuable thing when you drive around after dark.
The meter's layout has been designed so that it can be easily expanded, eg with a GPS module. The 'heart' of the device is the ATmega8 microcontroller. In addition, there is a real-time clock and a small three-button keyboard.
