The presented clock is one of the few sets developed only from simple digital circuits. The NIXIE display used for time displaying has a long history. Until the 1970s, it was the only alternative to digital displays. Only LED and LCD displays have released them. At present NIXIE can be obtained only on bazaars and electronic exchanges without a special problem. Frequently offered for symbolic amounts, they are an excellent material for 'retro' devices.
The 230Vac network is the power source in the clock, which allows us to abandon the voltage converter needed for NIXIE. The time counting system uses the popular and cheap 'scoops' of the 4000 series.

The device is especially recommended for electronics - romantic hobbyists, lovers of unique constructions
