One of the most difficult tasks in radioamateur practice is the measurement of power. There are a number of solutions to this problem, starting with diode detectors, through thermal detectors on specialized integrated circuits. Each solution has its advantages and disadvantages, eg: diode detectors are characterized by high frequency of work reaching tens of GHz, simplicity of application, but their disadvantages include low linearity range, maximum 30dB (without special circuits compensating for non-linearity of diode characteristics) and sensitivity on the shape of the measured waveform. The applied AD8362 power detector circuitry is distinguished by its maximum operating frequency range of 3.5GHz and dynamics up to 60dB. The voltage increase at the output is 50mV per dB. The system works correctly in the range from 1MHz to 750MHz, the parasitic resonances of the applied elements and the asymmetrical configuration of the input are responsible for limiting the band.
