The ability to connect the camera module to the microprocessor system opens up new possibilities in front of the device. In comparison to the camera used in a cell phone or a laptop, you gain full control over the module and the ability to access image data. Such a device gives the ability to automatically take pictures and process image data, enabling the use of the module as an optical sensor with extended capabilities.

Recommendations: an excellent set for independent experimentation, eg with image processing and evaluation algorithms.

Basic information:

  • power supply via external 5.9 V DC power supply or with 3.3 V DC stabilized voltage
  • the possibility of attaching any standard camera module with an 8-bit interface
  • STM32F217VGT microcontroller with a hardware interface of the camera
  • software that allows you to take and save photos
  • communication with the superior system via the UART interface
  • a printed circuit board and documentation in the set
