Description

The STMicroelectronics L7812CV provides a fixed 12 V output voltage with an output current of up to 1.5 A when adequate heat sinking is provided. The device belongs to the L78 series of three-terminal positive linear voltage regulators and incorporates internal current limiting, thermal overload protection, and output safe-area protection. The TO-220 package supports through-hole mounting and allows a heatsink to be used in power supply circuits requiring a regulated 12 V output.
