Description

OAK-D Pro is an advanced camera designed for robotic vision, enabling machines to perceive their surroundings in a way similar to humans. By combining an active stereo camera with a high-resolution color camera, it integrates powerful neural network inference capabilities and computer vision. This camera excels in low-light conditions and complete darkness, thanks to its night vision feature. It uses Ethernet interface for both power and communication, ensuring fast and efficient data transfer. The Pro version is particularly recommended for applications requiring precise and reliable depth perception in challenging conditions, such as low light, where traditional stereo cameras may struggle. This makes it ideal for robotic systems operating in diverse environments.

The OAK-D Pro camera features a computational power of 4 TOPS (1.4 TOPS dedicated to AI) and active stereo technology that enhances depth perception using an IR point projector. The IR night lighting enables the operation of AI and CV algorithms in low-light and dark conditions. OAK-D Pro supports various AI models, including custom-built ones, and offers different video encoding options such as H.264, H.265, and MJPEG, with support for 4K at 30 frames per second and 1080P at 60 frames per second.

PoE functionality allows the cameras to communicate with other devices via network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT, etc.) and ensures full compliance with the 802.3af standard, Class 3 PoE, and 1000BASE-T (1 Gb/s) speeds. The module is equipped with flash memory, allowing programs to be run in autonomous mode. OAK PoE cameras are housed in a durable enclosure with an IP65 protection rating, which is required for industrial and outdoor applications.

Wide Field of View (Wide FOV) allows capturing a larger area in a single shot, which can be particularly useful in various applications. First, in multi-camera setups, this reduces the number of devices needed to cover the entire area. Secondly, in applications involving autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), a wide field of view allows for covering a larger area and obtaining additional features for 3D localization and mapping.

The camera also enables advanced computer vision features such as image manipulation, edge detection, and feature tracking. OAK-D Pro provides stereo depth perception with filtering, RGB alignment, and high configurability, making it a versatile tool for various applications. The ability for 2D and 3D object tracking using the built-in ObjectTracker module makes it an ideal solution for automation systems.

The camera is resistant to harsh conditions, thanks to its industrial aluminum housing and Gorilla Glass front lens, and it features an IP66 rated enclosure, providing protection against dust and water. The built-in 9-axis BNO085 IMU sensor allows for better motion tracking. OAK-D Pro is an excellent choice for developers seeking efficient, reliable, and durable camera systems for automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence-based applications.
