Description
MCP2515-I/SO is a stand-alone CAN 2.0B controller that communicates with a microcontroller via the SPI interface. The device implements the CAN protocol/control layer (it is not a transceiver) and requires an external CAN transceiver (e.g., MCP2551, TJA1050, SN65HVD230) to connect to the physical CAN bus. The I/SO version indicates industrial temperature range and SOIC package.
