Description

Waveshare 33087 serves as a compact DSI touchscreen display designed for use with Raspberry Pi series boards. The integrated 3.5-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels provides wide viewing angles up to 170° and good image clarity for embedded applications, user interfaces, and multimedia projects.

The display uses the DSI interface, enabling direct connection to the dedicated Raspberry Pi connector without occupying GPIO pins. The default screen orientation operates in portrait mode (480 × 800), with the option to switch to landscape mode through software configuration.

An integrated capacitive touch panel supports up to five simultaneous touch points and communicates via the I2C bus. The front surface features tempered glass with hardness up to 6H, improving resistance to scratches and mechanical damage. Touch functionality operates natively under Raspberry Pi OS, ensuring full software compatibility.

The solution targets HMI interfaces, control systems, educational projects, and embedded devices requiring a compact touchscreen display with good image quality and straightforward integration. The product comes from Waveshare, a manufacturer specializing in display solutions for embedded systems.
