Description

UART Fingerprint Sensor (F) is a modern biometric module that integrates a precise capacitive sensor, processor, and processing algorithms into a single compact unit. The device uses an advanced commercial fingerprint recognition algorithm that supports registration, image acquisition, feature extraction, and fingerprint matching functions. This means the user does not need to understand the principles of biometric technology — simply send UART commands to fully utilize the sensor’s capabilities. The sensor offers high accuracy and fast identification speed — fingerprint matching takes less than 0.5 seconds with up to 500 stored templates.

The implemented capacitive touch detection technology allows instant finger detection with a light touch of the sensor window, ensuring fast and intuitive operation. The module features a built-in presence sensor that automatically switches the processor to sleep mode and wakes it up upon touch, significantly reducing power consumption. The board also includes a LED indicator signaling the fingerprint registration and reading process. The sensor supports UART and USB communication, allowing easy integration with both PCs and platforms such as STM32, Raspberry Pi, or other embedded systems. Thanks to its compact dimensions and robust design, the module is ideal for use in access control systems, smart locks, security terminals, and IoT projects. The device also offers high electrostatic discharge (ESD) resistance and stable operation across a wide temperature range.
