Description

JETSON-ORIN-NANO-DEV-KIT in the 8GB version is a development kit designed for artificial intelligence, robotics, computer vision and edge computing applications. The platform uses the Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module together with the JETSON-ORIN-IO-BASE base board providing a wide range of peripheral interfaces including M.2, DisplayPort, USB 3.2, CSI and Gigabit Ethernet. The design enables rapid prototyping of systems using hardware AI acceleration and integration with external peripherals.

TOPS

The Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module provides up to 40 TOPS of AI performance in standard mode and up to 67 TOPS after upgrading to the SUPER version. The computing unit uses a 6-core Arm Cortex-A78AE processor and a GPU based on the Ampere architecture equipped with 1024 CUDA cores and 32 Tensor cores. The kit includes a pre-installed 256GB NVMe SSD enabling high-speed data read and write operations, allowing work with large AI models, datasets and video streams.

The performance increase in SUPER mode results from changes in the power profile and higher operating frequencies of the GPU and CPU computing units. This allows higher computational throughput while maintaining compatibility with the same NVIDIA Jetson software environment. In practice, this enables handling more complex AI models, processing multiple video streams simultaneously, or performing real-time analytical tasks on edge devices.

The integrated 8GB LPDDR5 memory with bandwidth up to 102 GB/s provides high data transfer performance between computing units. The 128-bit memory bus architecture enables stable operation under intensive system workloads and supports simultaneous execution of multiple data processing and AI inference tasks.

The system supports hardware-accelerated H.265 video processing, enabling decoding of streams up to 4K60 resolution and parallel processing of multiple video streams. Integrated controllers for PCIe Gen3, USB 3.2, MIPI CSI-2 interfaces and DisplayPort video output provide a hardware environment suitable for integration with cameras, NVMe storage devices and peripherals used in vision-based systems.

System architecture

The platform architecture enables the implementation of advanced computing systems requiring parallel data processing and high bus bandwidth. Support for the NVIDIA Jetson environment includes CUDA, cuDNN, TensorRT libraries and multimedia processing tools, enabling AI application optimization and integration with Linux-based systems.

The use of a multi-core CPU combined with GPU acceleration allows task distribution between the application layer, data processing and AI model inference. The platform architecture enables the creation of complex data processing pipelines including simultaneous handling of video streams, image analysis, signal processing and communication with peripheral devices.

Integrated power management mechanisms allow configuration of power profiles in the range from 7 W to 15 W depending on the computational requirements of the application. The applied active cooling ensures stable operation under long-term computational workloads. The platform provides a consistent hardware and software environment designed for continuous operation and implementation of AI-based embedded systems.
