The Crowtail-Water Sensor 2.0 module enables detection of contact with water in digital systems. It is used in rain sensors, leak detection and overflow protection of tanks.
Crowtail-Water Sensor 2.0 is a digital water-presence sensor compatible with the Crowtail system, designed to detect contact with liquid. The construction based on conductive traces allows detection of water presence by shorting the signal trace to ground. The sensor is equipped with a 1 MΩ pull-up resistor that keeps the output in a high state until conductive contact between the traces occurs. When connected to digital inputs of a microcontroller (e.g., Crowduino), it enables detection of flooding, liquid leakage or tank overflow. Powered with 5 V, the module features low power consumption and high sensitivity.
