A LoRa wireless communication module dedicated to long-distance data transfer. It operates in the 868 MHz frequency band and is equipped with a USB interface. Waveshare USB-TO-LoRa-HF
USB-TO-LoRa-HF is a LoRa wireless communication module dedicated to long-distance data transfer. It operates in the 868 MHz frequency band and is equipped with a USB interface. It has the form of a small USB Dongle. It is based on the SX1262 module and uses LoRa Modulate and Demodulate technology.
Compared to traditional communications, the implemented LoRa Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technologies significantly improve the performance of long-range and anti-jam communications, widely used in military and industrial communication domains. The module provides multiple software-configurable communication methods. It can operate in streaming or packet, point-to-point or point-to-multipoint mode and can realise a multi-level relay network, suitable for very long-range or complex communications environments.
The module can be operated using AT commands, which allow the user to send a request for the current status or set operating parameters. The stability and security of the communication is ensured by AES encryption. The module actively monitors ambient noise before sending. If it exceeds a threshold, sending will be delayed. This feature can improve communication performance in harsh environments. In addition, it supports RSSI, the signal strength output of the data packet, which can be used to assess signal quality and measure distance.
The TCXO quartz oscillator used in the product ensures long operating times without frequency fluctuations at even extreme industrial temperatures.
The module will find application for long-distance data transmission in industry and agriculture. Full documentation and configuration examples are available on the product page.
