KA-S71200-IO-Simulator v1.1 - a simulation set for controllers of the S7-1200 family

Description

KA-S71200-IO-Simulator is a complete set simulating the environment of a typical PLC from the Siemens S7-1200 family. Using this set, it is possible to verify the operation of a program written for a PLC by providing:

• to the digital inputs of the respective logic states using built-in switches,
• for pulse digital inputs from the AB encoder built into the set,
• on the analog (ADC) inputs of voltages from the built-in lighting sensor, temperature sensor and potentiometer,
• on the analog input (ADC) of voltage from the output of the Wheatstone bridge converter (e.g. to a strain gauge),
• for analogue inputs (ADC) of voltages from external sensors, e.g. distance, shaft speed, position sensors with analogue outputs.

The states of digital outputs are monitored by means of LEDs.

• Has a built-in bidirectional AB rotary encoder
• It allows testing the capabilities of the ADC converter built-in the PLC thanks to the built-in:
  • Wheatstone bridge converter (e.g. to strain gauge)
  • MCP9700 temperature sensor, with output voltage scaled to the PLC measuring range (+5 to + 105 ° C)

Test program

We provide a simple test program prepared in the TIA Portal 15.1 environment in versions for CPU1211C and CPU1212C controllers. The program allows you to test all the peripheral elements of the set, the role of test selectors is played by switches DI.4 and DI.5 according to the table below. A detailed description of the tests is available in the documentation.
