The NRF7002 is a board that allows you to add Wi-Fi connectivity to the Nordic Thingy:53 development kit. It includes everything you need to get started with Wi-Fi applications. The board connects via an edge connector to the Thingy:53 kit and uses the nRF5340 (Thingy SoC) as the host device. The nRF7002 enables the development of low-power Wi-Fi 6 applications and allows the Thingy:53 to take advantage of Wi-Fi 6 features such as OFDMA, Beamforming and Target Wake Time.
The nRF7002 can also be used for easy prototyping with other Nordic devices, thanks to the nRF7002 pins. To communicate with the internal nRF5340 Thingy:53 SoC, the nRF7002 uses the SPI interface, which enables seamless interoperability with other protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Thread or Zigbee. The nRF7002 board is supported by the Nordic nRF Connect SDK application.
