A module dedicated to power analysis of nRF5 series development boards. It is designed to measure and optimize power consumption in embedded device applications. Nordic Semiconductor nRF6707
A module dedicated to power analysis of nRF5 series development boards. It is designed to measure and optimize power consumption in embedded device applications. It measures current from 1 μA to 70 mA and provides a detailed picture of the current profile for the user's application. The Power Profiler Kit connects directly to the nRF51 DK and nRF52 DK via standard Arduino Uno Rev3 connectors and a special power measurement connector. There is also an additional connector for connecting and measuring current on external boards, which enables measurement of current consumption in the end device. It supports voltage levels from 1.8 V to 3.3 V and has a built-in stabilizer that supplies up to 70 mA to external applications.
The Power Profiler Kit features an advanced analog measurement unit with a high dynamic input range. This allows accurate current consumption measurements over the entire range typical of embedded applications based on nRF devices. For the lowest input range, the resolution is 0.2 µA, and with a current sampling rate of 77 kHz, the time resolution is high enough to detect current spikes. The module supports both an external trigger input and a trigger output. This makes it possible to combine the Power Profiler Kit with oscilloscopes and logic state analyzers.
The kit works with computer software running on the nRF Connect for Desktop platform. The Power Profiler application can display both average acquisition times and high-resolution events in the same window. The measured data can be exported for further processing.
