The NRF5340 DK is a development kit with the nRF5340 System-on-Chip (SoC) that supports a wide range of wireless protocols. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth Mesh, Thread and Zigbee technology (which can run simultaneously with Bluetooth Low Energy) and the NFC, ANT, 802.15.4 and 2.4 GHz protocols. The development kit comes with an NFC antenna that allows you to quickly test the functionality of the nRF5340 NFC-A tag. The board includes a SEGGER J-Link debugger, enabling full programming and debugging of both the nRF5340 SoC and external devices.
All analog and digital interfaces as well as GPIO are accessible via led out connectors. The kit is compatible with the Arduino Uno Rev3, which means that it can be easily connected with shields. The board is equipped with four buttons and four user programmable LEDs and an external memory that is connected to the QSPI interface. The NRF5340 DK can be powered via USB, from an external source, CR2032 battery or Li-Po battery, and the power consumption can be measured using dedicated pins.
The set is programmed using the dedicated nRF Connect SDK tool, which supports the development of Bluetooth Low Energy, Thread and Zigbee application software and integrates Zephyr RTOS.
