The Pololu 5358 module protects the connected load against reverse voltage up to –75 V (80 V absolute maximum). The design uses a low Rds(on) MOSFET, which ensures minimal voltage drop and reduced power dissipation in the power path.
The operating voltage range is 4–75 V, and after startup the module can function from as low as 3.2 V. The maximum continuous current is 8 A, while the MOSFET’s Rds(on) remains below 15 mΩ, resulting in high energy efficiency and low heat generation.
The module does not block reverse current. This makes it suitable for applications where energy can flow back to the power source, such as battery-powered motor controllers with regenerative braking. In the event of reverse voltage connection, the MOSFET disconnects the load, protecting it from damage.
Compact dimensions of 0.3 × 0.5 inches allow easy integration into embedded designs, battery-powered systems and industrial applications that require reliable reverse polarity protection.
