The CH9101R provides USB-to-UART conversion in a compact QSOP16 package, offering a wide range of transmission speeds and full control signal support. The device is suitable for use in USB-to-UART adapters, RS232 and RS485 communication interfaces, and for retrofitting devices using a classic serial port. Its flexible I/O line power supply facilitates integration with modern microcontrollers and embedded systems
The CH9101R is a USB to asynchronous UART serial bus converter integrated circuit designed for integration into electronic devices requiring USB to serial communication. The device operates as a full-speed USB device compliant with USB 2.0 and emulates a standard COM port, enabling direct interoperability with Windows systems using the built-in CDC driver or the proprietary VCP driver. Supported baud rates range from 50 bps to 3 Mbps, with full support for various data frame formats and MODEM control signals.
The CH9101R variant offers TXD, RXD pins, RTS, CTS, DTR, DCD, RI, and DSR signals, as well as TXS, RXS, TNOW, and SUSPEND auxiliary signals, enabling half-duplex and full-duplex communication, and RS485 transmitter control. The device features an internal oscillator, reset circuit, and EEPROM memory, allowing configuration of USB parameters such as VID, PID, and device description without the need for external clocking components. The CH9101R supports I/O logic power supply ranging from 1.8V to 5V, facilitating direct connection to microcontrollers with various voltage levels.
