The book is the first of three parts of the miniseries titled "Electronic devices". The electronic device, electronic system and automatic control system were discussed and defined. Much attention has been devoted to passive components of circuits, systems and electronic devices, such as resistors, capacitors, induction coils; semiconductor elements - diodes, bipolar and field transistors, thyristors, thermistors, hallotrons, optoelectronic elements. Electroacoustic transducers, antennas, optical fibers are presented in detail. The contact elements are described last.
The first part as a preliminary one, depending on the preparation of students, can be used in a wider or narrower scope at the teacher's discretion.

All three parts of the series are addressed to basic electronic school students with the specialty of electronic equipment fitter.
