Light and Skin Interactions immerses you in one of the most fascinating applications. The book first illuminates the fundamental biophysical processes. It then examines four exemplary modeling approaches as well as definitive algorithms. An accompanying companion also includes the concept of the BioSpec model, which is considered the most important first model in the field. Despite its wide scope, the book's content is presented in a concise manner, focusing on the relevant practical aspects. What's more, these approaches have a wide range of alternative materials, such as eye tissue, hair, and water.
* Allows you to understand the qualitative and quantitative behavior of complex natural systems.
* A general background on tissue optics clarifies several issues in the early stages of research.
* Includes a complete code and data sources for the BioSpec model.

The Curvimeter – or opisometer – is a device that measures the length of curved lines and helps to calculate the distance between the points on a map more precisely than a ruler or a compass.
The mechanism has a measuring wheel, a clock face, and a hand. When the wheel moves along the line on a map that you need to measure, the hand moves around the clock face marked with measuring units – centimeters, inches, etc. All you need to do in the end is to check the map scale and to multiply your data by the denominator in the scale.
