FPGA and CPLD programmable circuits enjoy unflagging popularity. Unfortunately, most of the development kits available on the market are too expensive and this makes it difficult to get acquainted with this technology. The cheapest of them are practically completely devoid of peripheries. An alternative is to build your own development kit, equipped in such a way that it can be easily adapted to your needs.
In the AVT KIT, Xilinx CPLD programmable systems from the CoolRunner II family were used.

The device is especially recommended for designers modeling devices in CPLD structures and for all who want to learn how to program CPLD

Selected parameters:

• CPLD XC2C128-VQ100 (128 macrocell) with the possibility of replacing by XC2C256-VQ100 (twice as large resources)
• CPLD XC2C32-VQ44 (32 macrocells) with the possibility of replacing by XC2C64-VQ44 (twice as large resources)
• systems can be combined into a JTAG chain
• input circuits: two rotary encoders with a pushbutton and polarization system, four micro-switches (including two coupled with encoder buttons), two binary actuators with polarization circuits and an infrared receiver
• output circuits: multiplexed, four-position LED display, LCD display (without driver), four LED diodes
• built-in voltage stabilizers
• built-in bidirectional converter of 3.3 / 5V levels
• 5Vdc power supply (from USB port, battery or STK500 kit)
