Robotics enjoy unflagging popularity. Like mushrooms after the rain, there are factory solutions for drivers compatible with Arduino, eg Romeo platform. This driver based on the AVR microcontroller enables easy and quick start of work on a mobile robot, reducing the time spent on developing the controller board and allows you to focus on software solutions.

Recommendations: a universal driver that will be useful to robotics enthusiasts, but it can also be a base for making other devices.

Basic information:

  • ATmega328P microcontroller, supply voltage from 3.3V, frequency of the 16 MHz oscillator
  • power supply from 7.2V battery or battery pack, with polymer fuse and power switch, allowable supply voltage 5.5 ... 10Vdc
  • measurement of battery / battery voltage
  • built-in 5V and 3.3V stabilizers for powering peripheral systems
  • built-in controller of two commutator or one-step motors based on the DRV8833 driver system with the monitoring of drive failures
  • 2 outputs with increased load capacity, open drain type, one with PWM option, with protection diodes, e.g. for controlling LED diodes, electromagnets, servos etc.
  • outputs lead to SIP3 connectors of the Arduino Bricks standard, enabling the use of Arduino compatible peripherals (VBAT power supply)
  • built-in 3-key analogue keyboard
  • built-in TSOP infrared receiver
  • entrance for the popular ultrasonic range finder type HCSR-04
  • input for the SHARP GP2 rangefinder
  • 2 analogue ports of any application (3.3V standard, Arduino Bricks standard connector)
  • 2 digital (I / O) ports of any application (3.3 V standard, Arduino Bricks standard connector)
  • LED signaling diode
  • I2C interface connector in Arduino standard, compliant with 3.3V (or alternative two analog / digital pins), for attaching eg RTC modules, IO expander, LCD described in EP
  • Arduino UART interface, compatible with 3.3V (or two alternative digital pins), for cooperation with Bluetooth, USB, Xbee
  • ISP connector, Atmel 6-pin
  • dimensions of the plate 62x35mm
  • after uploading the bootloader and using a USB / RS adapter, for example: FT230 use in Arduino environment in compliance with Arduino Nano
  • a set of printed circuit boards (motherboard and three sensor boards) and documentation are included in the set
