Bolesław Pochopień: associate professor at the Institute of Computer Science of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, doctor habilitated, engineer. In the years 1990-1996 he was the Vice-Rector for Teaching, and in the years 1992-2002 the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology. The main areas of his scientific and research activity include computer science and automation, in particular in the field of the theory and technique of implementing digital systems.
