Description

The converter allows you to connect up to 8 1-Wire systems via the I2C interface. For example, you can connect up to 8 DS18B20 temperature sensors and read the measurement using the I2C interface.

The built-in I2C / 1Wire converter is 2-bit addressable so that up to 4 such modules can be connected to one I2C bus. The converter can be used as an extension for Raspberry Pi and Nettemp temperature monitoring system.

The module has two sets of 4xRJ45 connectors (with a 1-Wire interface) and has been designed so that you can cut the PCB with the last 4 RJ45 connectors. Between the sets of 4xRJ45 connectors, a 1Wire interface was derived to enable connection of the cut plate with, for example, wires, to place 4xRJ45 connectors on top of each other or on opposite sides.

The RJ45 connectors are equipped with LED diodes that can be connected (by mounting their leads and additional resistors R1-R4 and R13-R16) to the 1Wire bus. Some 1Wire chips may not work properly with connected LEDs, so the standard ones are disconnected.
