HiFive Inventor is a hand-shaped mini-computer designed to teach children how to control robots and connect to IoT-enabled systems via Espressif ESP32-SOLO-1. The kit aims to teach children to program and educate through the art of storytelling. The program guides students through 20 thematic projects where the user learns things such as wirelessly piloting an alien spaceship, building an intergalactic weather station, robot control, and designing musical instruments.
Doctor Who Inventor Kit is based on HiFive Learn Inventor, which was developed in partnership with the BBC, Tynker and SiFive. Uses the popular Doctor Who series to get kids and fans alive with programming. The kit is borrowed from the very popular BBC micro: bit platform, but is based on the free and open RISC-V instruction set architecture. With built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies, it enables wireless communication between devices that form the basis of Internet of Things (IoT) applications, such as smart cities, smart factories and wearables technology.
