Description

A kit for building an autonomous robot based on NVIDIA Jetson Nano B01. It consists of a crawler chassis, a robotic arm with 4 degrees of freedom, an 8MP camera with Sony IMX219 sensor, a WiFi Dual-Band 2.4/5 GHz wireless communication module and necessary accessories.

The undercarriage is a track-based design with a 37-520 drive motor with a speed of 333 rpm. The motor has a heavy-duty metal gearbox that provides low noise during operation.

The main component of the robot is a robotic arm with 4 degrees of freedom. It uses 4 heavy-duty servo motors with metal gears, which provide high torque and high precision movement. The control system provides motion control in the 3D coordinate system thanks to the implemented inverse kinematics algorithm.

Responsible for image processing is a camera with an IMX219 sensor with a resolution of 3280x2464 pixels, which is ideally suited for the development of vision algorithms with the OpenCV suite such as object recognition, target tracking and autonomous driving.

The robot is controlled by an NVIDIA development kit with an ARM Cortex A57 CPU running at 1.43 GHz. It is equipped with a Maxwell graphics chip consisting of 128 cores supporting CUDA technology. The chip has 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, Ethernet and HDMI interfaces and two MIPI-CSI connectors. The package is designed for graphics design and processing of very large amounts of data. It allows you to get acquainted with the technique of programming GPUs.

The Jetson Nano module is the smallest device of the Jetson platform. It provides performance to run modern AI workloads in a small, low-power format. It provides 472 GFLOPs of computing power for high-speed operation of modern AI algorithms. It can run multiple neural networks in parallel and process data from multiple high-resolution sensors simultaneously, making it an excellent solution as a controller in robotics.

The robot's expansion board included a motor controller, a servo power circuit and a protection circuit, as well as a basket for 3 18650 battery cells.

The robot is supported by rich software, including JupyterLab, a web-based, interactive development environment that provides rich output visualization, allows easy creation of dashboards and UIs, and supports flexible configuration and layout for modular interfaces. Dedicated software allows the creation of algorithms based on deep learning, as well as the realization of autonomous driving.
