The module enables galvanically isolated, bidirectional communication between two I²C devices (SDA and SCL lines). This prevents incorrect connections or improper voltages on one side from damaging the device on the other. Signal communication is based on the TI ISO1640B chip, which supports data transfer speeds of up to 1.7 MHz.
The module supports a voltage range of 3 V to 5.5 V on one side and 2.25 V to 5.5 V on the other. The SDA1 and SCL1 lines connect to the data and clock signals of one device, while SDA2 and SCL2 are designated for connecting the second device. Both connections support bidirectional transmission, allowing clock stretching for compatibility with various systems. Additionally, the SDA and SCL lines feature internal 10 kΩ pull-up resistors to the appropriate supply voltages (VCC1 and VCC2). If higher-speed communication is required, external pull-up resistors can be added to enhance signal strength and improve transmission stability. Thanks to its compact size and compatibility with popular Qwiic and Stemma QT connection systems, the module is easy to integrate into various applications. It is also conveniently usable with breadboards.
